The two swap their own guide dog histories — including Romero’s dog being taken from him by his guide dog school after eight years together — and get into the real, everyday friction of traveling with a service animal in a rideshare: cleanliness, driver allergies, cultural attitudes toward dogs, and the constant pressure to be an “ambassador” for the blind community.
