A former hotel employee of three years shares ways to avoid wasting money while staying at hotels: book directly through the hotel, choose a basic room, pick a central location, bring your own water and snacks, avoid room service and parking fees, tip appropriately, join loyalty programs, and skip the overpriced toiletries and souvenirs.
Scientists in Hong Kong discovered a new species of box jellyfish with 24 eyes, and if you ever visit the Amazon river, you may want to avoid peeing in the water — there’s a tiny fish called the candiru that could swim up your urethra.
